How We Nurture a Learning Culture at LearnUpon

While we’re all about delivering an exceptional learning experience for our customers, we’re always focused on our own learning and development. We put a lot of work into supporting training so that each and every LearnUpon employee has the skills they need to fulfill their role and advance their own professional development.

Getting up and running

We’ve onboarded over 100 employees since LearnUpon began. This has enabled us to refine our training programs to ensure they meet each new hire’s needs. From the moment you officially become the newest member of the LearnUpon team:

  • You’re enrolled in our Welcome to LearnUpon course. This has all the information you need about LearnUpon, our teams, office, location, tips and tricks…and so much more. This is our way of making your first days in the company as smooth as possible.
  • You’ll be encouraged to meet lots of people across our different teams. This helps you to understand what LearnUpon is all about and to understand what each team does.
  • You’ll be given access to different courses which are tailored to your role in our internal LearnUpon LMS portal, and you’ll get your own portal to play with too.
  • While our whole team is always happy to help with anything you need, we’ll also assign you your very own Lupper Buddy. A Lupper Buddy is a LearnUpon employee who’s worked with us for some time. They’re your go-to-person who’ll answer any questions you have. They’ll make sure you’re settling into your new work environment, they’ll show you all of the tools and processes you need to know, and help you to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of your new role.

Onboarding lasts roughly 4 to 6 weeks depending on the role and your own experience. However, we don’t hold this to a tight deadline. If you need more time to learn everything, you’ll get it.

Learning and growing together

You’ll regularly hear the mantra “we’re always learning” in LearnUpon. That’s because continuous learning and knowledge sharing are important to us. Here are some examples of how we support our always learning approach:

  • We organize regular knowledge-share sessions amongst teams. The idea is that each team member gets the chance to educate teammates on something specific they’ve learned, worked on, or have additionally researched.
  • The LearnUpon team has access to various courses within our own LMS with training materials suitable for their area of work.
  • We always keep up-to-date with industry trends, so attendance at conferences and/or additional education is provided as needed.
  • Continued employee growth and development is encouraged. Any additional training requests (internal or external) are always considered. The same is valid for cases when employees change position – either due a promotion or a switch of career direction – training is there to support the transition.
  • We also run regular 1:1 meetings between each team member and their managers. This helps to share mutual feedback and support each other in our roles.

At LearnUpon, we nurture a healthy learning culture to support all employees. We want everyone to understand what their role is, gain insight into LearnUpon’s future journey, and most importantly, we want to ensure we’ve got a happy workforce.
